EVENTCommunity Forum: Q & A w/Bernalillo County DA Candidate Raul Torrez
A collaboration of coalitions including the New Mexico Coalition Against Domestic Violence, New Mexico Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs, Women’s Agenda, and the Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women will be hosting a DA candidate forum for the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office.
The projected audience may be very broad and include: Representatives from the criminal justice system, staff and advocates from local domestic violence and sexual assault programs, interested tribal members, university students, as well as the many community supporters who care about how sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking cases will be handled by the DA’s office going forward. We believe these are important platform issues in our community. There has been a lot of uncertainty in Bernalillo County with regard to how these issues are dealt with currently. We hope to gain an idea of the candidates plans if they are elected into office.
Beginning promptly at 6:00pm, the forum will be at the National Hispanic Cultural Center on Tuesday, September 20th.
