Kylla Lanier is the deputy director and co-founder of Truckers Against Trafficking, a 501(c)3 organization that exists to educate, equip, empower and mobilize members of the trucking and busing industries to combat domestic sex trafficking as part of their everyday jobs. She speaks around the country about TAT’s mission and how the trucking and busing industries are combatting human trafficking. She trains law enforcement through case studies, presentations, the red-flag indicators of trafficking, and what to look for at interdiction or inspection stops.
Ms. Lanier has a Master’s degree in educational psychology and has been training law enforcement, community members and trucking industry members on human trafficking since 2009. On average, she conducts 30 trainings a year.
She has received human trafficking training through the Department of Justice, the Office of the Texas Attorney General, various anti-trafficking conferences around the nation and informally, through numerous survivors of domestic sex trafficking. Ms. Lanier was a high school teacher for over a decade and was named District Teacher of the Year for Broken Arrow Public Schools.
