Reporte Abuso & Negligencia Infantil

Llame a su agencia local de policía o envíe un texto a #SAFE (#7233) de un teléfono celular o llame al 1-855-333-SAFE (7233) de un teléfono fijo. Usted puede reportar sospecha de abuso infantil 24 horas siete días de la semana.

La ley de Nuevo México “Responsabilidad de Reportar Abuso o Negligencia Infantil” (“Duty to Report Child Abuse and Child Neglect”) (32A-4-3) indica que “Cada persona, incluyendo médicos con licencia; un residente o un practicante examinando, asistiendo o brindando tratamiento a un niño; un oficial de policía; un juez presidiendo un juicio; un/a enfermero/a registrado/a; un/a maestro/a de escuela; un oficial de una escuela; un/a trabajador/a social actuando en una capacidad oficial; o un miembro del clero quien tiene información que no es privilegiada como materia de ley, quien conoce o tiene una sospecha razonable de que un niño esta siendo abusado o desatendido, debe de reportar el asunto inmediatamente” a la agencia local de policía, CYFD-SCI, o a la policía de la tribu o agencia de servicio social para cualquier niño indígena residente de Territorio Indígena.

La ley de Nuevo México define ampliamente “niño abusado” y “niño desatendido” de manera que cada acción mediante la cual la salud o el bienestar físico o mental de un niño ha sido o puede ser negativamente afectada esta potencialmente cubierta. Si existe una pregunta sobre si un niño es un “niño abusado” o “niño desatendido” conforme la definición de la ley, siempre inclínese en el lado de la seguridad del niño y reporte el incidente.
