Resources for Language Access

Minors’ Consent for Health Care Services in New Mexico

Under HIPAA, a parent/guardian generally has access to their child’s medical records. However, an exception is made if the minor consents to care that does not require parental/guardian consent under state law. Most providers take the position that if the minor can consent for the service, then they have the right to confidentiality and control access to and disclosure of medical records for those services. This resource provides New Mexico Statutes Annotated around minors’ consent for health care services.

Coalition Connect: Beyond Accessibility: Rethinking Design, Power, and Belonging (ESP)

“Jenny Bartos joins us for another presentation on disability justice. Unlearning ableism is more than asking “”how do we treat people with disabilities better?”. It requires examining how we define value, independence, productivity, and safety. This training is a chance to have honest conversations about how ableist assumptions show up in our workplaces, homes, and communities.
